More than a year ago President Bush signed into law the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act. This act - which was insidiously and deceptively added to an unrelated Port Securities bill - attempts to make it impossible for US citizens to gamble online. Sadly, as a result of this act, many online gambling establishments have declared their decision to exit the US market. However, the act does not itself make it illegal for US citizens to gamble online, and a large number of gambling firms have declared their commitment to staying in the US market.
